About Me

My name is Sandy and over the last 24 years, I’ve taught and trained in the fitness world—from all types of group fitness, to personal training, Pilates reformer, to even teaching physical education. From five-year-olds to seniors I’ve always been an advocate of staying functional and strong through movement that works for you! Yep, EXERCISE! It’s kind of been my thing for a lifetime. Although who I am and how I teach has evolved over the years, the reasons why I do what I do remain constant. Here’s what I believe in terms of exercise:

Here’s what I believe in terms of exercise:

I believe you should find safe, effective movement that works for you.

Not everyone loves to exercise, so finding something that you love to do and can stick with is important if you want to make positive changes to your health and fitness. It all counts, so getting started is as simple as walking out your front door or doing a few basic exercises each day. And remember, anyone can design or lead a workout that's tough and will leave you sore. I want to help find the workout that works for you that will make you stronger in body and soul and not set you up for injury.

I believe exercising to be strong rather than skinny is really where your focus should be.

If you take even a quick look at recent research you will find that strength is emerging as a game changer when it comes to staying healthy and being able to fight disease. Being proactive rather than reactive can make all the difference when it comes to our health which means we need to start building strength today to help us fight off whatever might try to "chase us down" in the future. So I'll take strong over skinny ANY day. I think you should too.

I believe in training you so you can do it right without me.

My goal is to set you free in the "real world" with knowledge of why form and technique are so important. I know full well that you won't take my classes and train with me forever (although I would love that), so I'm working to make you independent rather than dependent! That's what teachers do, and, after all, I am a teacher by degree and by training!

I believe you gotta love your body—every darn part of it.

It's the only one you're gonna get! That "not so flat anymore (or ever)" stomach, the extra wave going on underneath your arm, the bigger than you'd like backside or thighs, the ever changing body after you hit a certain age...you gotta love all of it. Stop telling yourself it's not good enough. It's who you are right now. Be kind to yourself, accept what you've got TODAY and do what you can with it. Progress is still possible no matter who you are and what you've currently got! That's great news.

I believe in opportunity.

Every challenge is an opportunity. Think about it. Your perception is your reality. I can't change that but YOU can! If you begin to look at challenges or difficulties as opportunities, your perception changes and so does your reality. Every day we have the opportunity to move forward, start fresh and make changes for the better.

I believe in community.

From years of meeting new people weekly while working in gyms and studios I can honestly say that I have learned so much from the community around me during my fitness journey. I've seen and met some of the strongest, most courageous, and generous people and seen them give unparalleled support and encouragement to the people around them just because they sweat together a few days per week. How amazing is that?

I’d love to get to know you better and assist you on your fitness journey. Why not take this opportunity to keep yourself strong and healthy in the comfort of your own home, with safe guided weekly workouts that allow you to work at your own level and progress at your own pace? Let me help you feel successful and challenged, not overwhelmed or intimidated!

Stay healthy, stay strong, stay EVER FIT!
